Hazard
The product poses a medium risk of fire due to failing flammability testing. This product also poses a risk of suffocation as the supplied polymer bag was sufficiently large so as to be able to cover a child’s mouth and nose simultaneously. When measured it was found to have an average thickness 0.027mm, which is below the 0.008mm standard. It does not bear any warnings that this has been calculated to pose a risk.
The products outer seams did not withstand a 70-newton seam strength test and gave easy access to the filling material. The product also poses a medium risk of fire due to failing flammability testing. No permanent labelling or wording were present as required by Schedule 7 of The Furniture and Furnishings (fire) (safety) Regulations 1988.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 and the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
Corrective action
The product has been withdrawn from the market and the listing removed by the online marketplace (Wish).
