Zimbabwe: Partnerships for Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) programme

The FCDO invites proposals by 23 June 2026 to strengthen financial sustainability of women’s rights organisations and mobilise domestic resources to end violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Zimbabwe.

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) invites proposals for the Partnerships for Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) programme in Zimbabwe.

The programme will award competitive grants to organisations that either mobilise new domestic resources for VAWG or strengthen the long-term financial sustainability of women’s rights organisations.

A total of £500,000 is available for the first phase, with individual grants of up to £150,000.

The first-stage application deadline is 5pm Central Africa Time on 23 June 2026.

What the fund will achieve

The fund aims to strengthen the sustainability of women’s rights organisations delivering VAWG prevention and response services in Zimbabwe. It will support organisations to diversify and increase domestic financing, including from corporates, individuals and the diaspora, and to build long-term financial resilience within the VAWG ecosystem.

The programme seeks to achieve greater mobilisation of domestic resources for VAWG and increased financial sustainability of women’s rights organisations.

Organisations applying must:

  • be not-for-profit organisations, civil society organisations or consortia
  • be legally registered and able to operate in Zimbabwe
  • demonstrate relevant experience of reducing violence against women and girls, improving women’s rights, or civil society programming

Consortia are permitted, including partnerships with Zimbabwean organisations, UK institutions, and the private sector, with a lead organisation responsible for delivery.
