TCM1000258 - How to disallow a potential EU CTC/WTC complex claim where the employment can’t be verified

Changes to previous version - new guidance.

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu’

  • select ‘Application’ on the toolbar
  • select ‘Correction’ from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data’ screen
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select the ‘All’ checkbox
  • select ‘OK’.

If you are taken to the ‘Select Application’ screen

  • select the claim with the status of ‘Awaiting Award’
  • select ‘OK’
  • go to Step 2.

If you aren’t taken to the ‘Select Application’ screen, go to Step 2.

Step 2

When the message ‘Details must be recorded in the Capture Application Function. Do you wish to proceed’ displays, select ‘Yes’. You’ll be taken to the ‘Applicant 1’ screen

  • select ‘Wk1’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Work - Applicant 1’ screen
  • remove the tick in the ‘Place of work’ checkbox
  • enter ‘0’ in the ‘Number of Paid Jobs’ field
  • enter ‘0’ in the ‘Total Hours Worked’ field
  • remove the details in the ‘Employer Reference’ fields
  • remove the details in the ‘Name’ field
  • remove the details in the ‘Payroll number’ field
  • select ‘Address’. You will be taken to the ‘Address Wizard’ screen
  • select ‘Clear’
  • select ‘OK’
  • when the message ‘Address must contain at least 2 lines and consist of A-Z 0-9. ‘,()/& - and space Do you wish to proceed?’ displays, select ‘Yes’. You’ll be taken back to the ‘Work - Applicant 1’ screen
  • remove the details in the ‘Telephone Number’ field

Note: You must repeat the above for all jobs each customer has.

Step 3

On the ‘Work - Applicant 1’ screen, select ‘Ch’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Children’ screen.

If ‘CC’ isn’t shown in the ‘Details’ column, go to Step 4.

If ‘CC’ is shown in the ‘Details’ column

  • select ‘CC’ on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Childcare’ screen
  • select the name of the provider
  • select ‘Edit’ on the toolbar
  • select ‘Delete’ from the options available
  • when the message ‘Do you wish to delete the details of this childcare provider?’ displays, select ‘Yes’

Note: You must repeat the above for each childcare provider.

  • select ‘Ch’ on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Children’ screen
  • go to Step 4.

Step 4

On the ‘Children’ screen

  • select the relevant child or young person
  • select ‘Edit’ on the toolbar
  • select ‘Delete’ from the options available
  • when the message ‘Do you wish to delete the details of this child?’ displays, select ‘Yes’

Note: You must repeat the above for each child.

  • remove any Child Benefit numbers from the ‘Child Benefit Numbers’ fields
  • go to Step 5.

Step 5

On the ‘Children’ screen

  • select ‘Sm’ on the toolbar. You’ll be taken to the ‘Summary Information’ screen
  • select ‘OK’
  • when the message ‘The information captured is incomplete. This application will be rejected’ displays, select ‘Process’. You’ve disallowed the potential EU complex claim because the employment can’t be verified.
