How to re-include the child or young person post award

Step 1

On the ‘Function Menu’

  • select ‘Application’ on the toolbar
  • select

    • ‘Change of Circumstance’ from the options available if you are dealing with an un-finalised claim. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen

    or

    • ‘Correction’ from the options available if you are dealing with a finalised claim. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen
  • enter the customer’s NINO
  • select the ‘All’ checkbox
  • select ‘OK’.

If you are taken to the ‘Select Application’ screen

  • select the relevant claim
  • select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
  • go to .

If you are taken straight to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen, go to .

Step 2

On the ‘Applicant Details’ screen

  • select ‘Ch’ on the toolbar. You will be taken to the ‘Child Details’ screen
  • select the new child or young person
  • select ‘Correction’. You will be taken to the ‘Correction Child’ screen
  • select the ‘History’ checkbox
  • select ‘History’. You will be taken to the ‘History’ screen
  • select ‘New’. You will be taken to the ‘New’ screen
  • enter the start date details in the following fields for the child or young person who is being re-included in the claim

    • ‘Responsibility’
    • ‘In Childcare’
    • ‘Full Time Education’
    • ‘Connexions’
    • ‘Disabled’
    • ‘DLA(HCC) / PIP (ER)’
  • select ‘OK’.

If the message ‘1 month restriction applied to include from date. Check if correct’ displays, go to .

If the message ‘1 month restriction applied to include from date. Check if correct’ does not display

  • you will be taken to the ‘Amend Finish’ screen
  • do not complete the ‘Amend Finish’ screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.

Step 3

If the date responsibility for the child or young person starts from is within one month of today’s date

  • select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Amend Finish’ screen
  • do not complete the ‘Amend Finish’ screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.

If the date responsibility for the child or young person starts from is more than one month before today’s date

  • select ‘Cancel’ until you are taken back to the ‘Correction Child’ screen
  • go to .

Step 4

On the ‘Correction Child’ screen

  • select ‘History’. You will be taken to the ‘History’ screen
  • select the period you want to change
  • select ‘Change’. You will be taken to the ‘Change’ screen
  • enter the start date for re-including the child or young person in the ‘Include From’ field
  • select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Amend Finish’ screen
  • do not complete the ‘Amend Finish’ screen at this point, just return to the guidance you were previously following.
