IDG55460 - Information disclosure Gateways with other government departments: Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act 2017- Research- Procedure for disclosure

All requests for information using the DEA research provisions must be sent to the UK Statistics Authority (UKSA) by the researcher for initial approval (contact details to be provided). The UKSA will oversee the accreditation of researchers, projects, processors and secure access environments.

When the Secretariat to the UKSA Review Board has approved the researcher and the application it will contact HMRC for its agreement to the data share. (This content has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)

The Data Sharing Service team will liaise with the Datalab and other officials to consider the application in more detail and inform the UKSA if HMRC agrees (or otherwise) to the data share. The UKSA Review Board will then make a final recommendation on the data share and inform all parties.
