EXPP8110 - Guidance on other procedures: consignments bearing UNESCO and ICOM labels

Note: This manual is under review following Brexit and is likely to be withdrawn. If there is anything within this manual you use regularly, please email hmrcmanualsteam@hmrc.gov.uk to let us know. Please check the other guidance available on GOV.UK from HMRC.

Special arrangements apply to a UNESCO scheme for the safe transmission of delicate items between approved scientific laboratories. Packages containing such goods exported by the National Physical Laboratory bear a label signed by an official of the laboratory and the station officer, requesting delivery of the packages unopened to the laboratory of destination for customs clearance there under the scheme.

The above mentioned goods will be pre-entered but not required to be produced at shipment. If selected for examination, do not open the packages. Clear them on external examination.
