  • NPS(NI) was previously known as NIRS 2 and the role you need to allocate on SRS is NIRS2 Person.
  • NPS(PAYE) is a known as PAYE Browser and the role you need to allocate on SRS is PAYE Service outstanding debt. It is accessed via My Services > Corporate Services > Individuals > PAYE Service.

Note: There are two NPS(PAYE) roles which can be allocated,’ PAYE Outstanding Debt’ and PAYE View Only. Only one of these roles can be allocated at anytime. The ‘PAYE Outstanding Debts’ held against an individual’s record role should be allocated, if the user is required to make amendments to the outstanding debts held against an individual’s record.

Users are required to have a licence to use the NPS system. If a user already holds a NPS licence for NPS(PAYE), they do not need a separate licence to use the NPS(NI) system. If you are allocating the NPS (PAYE) role to a user, you must apply for a licence by completing parts 1 and 2 of the PAYE8120 form (Word 79kb) and forwarding it the DMB IT Change Manager, Mailbox. This form can also be used if you are allocating both NPS(PAYE) and NPS(NI) roles.

If a user only requires access to NPS(NI) you will need to follow the guidance in the NIRS 2 Security Manual.
