CDSSG04620 - Navigating the Tariff, Step 6 - Finding AI codes required by the intended usage of the goods

Whilst Appendix 4 contains the full list of AI Codes which may be used in DE 2/2 on CDS, Step 6 of the Navigation Guide, for the specific Movement Type, directs users to refer to the guidance contained in Appendix 1 for the chosen Procedure Code first.

Appendix 1 completion notes will contain guidance on any specific AI codes which are required in order to release the goods to the chosen Procedure Code.

For example, Procedure Code 4200:

The following AI statements must be declared in all cases in D.E. 2/2:

Reminder:

The AI codes provided against the Procedure Code in Appendix 1 completion notes are not an exhaustive list. These are the mandatory and most common AI codes that apply to the given procedure. Appendix 4 should still be reviewed to identify if any other AI codes apply. See section CDSSG11030 for more guidance on Procedure Codes and AI codes.

See section CDSSG11050 for more information on other AI codes that may be required.
