COM110160 - Pursuit: automatic and clerical pursuit: Welsh language cases
If a company requests correspondence in Welsh, the office responsible for the company sets the Language signal on the record to 'W' using function ACTP (Amend CT Payer Details) and changes the registered office address to the Welsh CT Section at Porthmadog.
When staff who are based there receive printed outputs produced by COTAX, they translate it into Welsh and send it on to the company. You can see the Language signal using function VTPR (View Taxpayer) (VIEW COMPANY DETAILS option).
By setting the PLA signal to 'Y', Debt Management Offices can arrange to have correspondence not produced by COTAX sent to the company in Welsh.
For a list of functions to use in particular situations, see COM110161.
