Access from Caseflow

When you select ‘Yes’ in response to the question ‘NPPS Applies?’ this will open the Potential NPPS amount field. Enter the amount of tax/duty (PLR) on which a penalty can be charged, authorised on NPPS. An additional button appears: Create New Penalty.

When you select Create New Penalty you are taken into NPPS to create a penalty case, see Caseflow 2 Guidance – NPPS: Create a Case.

You can navigate back to the Caseflow system by selecting:

  • Process Work at the top of the screen or
  • Source Tab, then select:
  • the blue arrow next to ‘Returns’
  • ‘Back To: Caseflow Reference Number.’

To view an open case in NPPS from Caseflow, select the NPPS tab.

Access from CRMM

When you select ‘Yes’ in response to the question ‘NPPS Applies?’ this will open the Potential NPPS Amount field. Enter the amount of tax/duty (PLR) on which a penalty can be charged, authorised on NPPS. An additional button appears: Create New Penalty.

When you select Create New Penalty the NPPS screen will appear in the CRMM environment.

The NPPS penalty case and the CRMM Caseflow case are linked while the NPPS case is open and working. You can continue to work both cases through CRMM, toggling between the two systems without logging out of one and into the other.

Access directly using the NPPS icon

If you are not working the case within Caseflow you can access NPPS via My Workplace. Your line manager will need to request access for you through SRS. Once access has been given, the icons are located in My Workplace>Corporate Services>Tools.

You can then create a new penalty case as described in CH407710.
