Radiation protection - Research, response and real life: 23 October

On Thursday 23 October, 11am to 12pm, we will be hosting our sixth UKHSA Presents webinar where we will explore how we safeguard the public’s health from radiation threats nationwide.

Join us to discover how we safeguard the public’s health from radiation threats nationwide. This session will highlight UKHSA emergency response capabilities alongside essential radiation protection services, offering insights from recent training exercises and incidents that demonstrate how UKHSA specialist teams deliver coordinated responses during radiation emergencies. You will gain understanding of our collaboration with the newly established Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) on Radiation Threats and Hazards and how this research partnership strengthens our protective measures.

We will also explore our public engagement initiatives, including the newly published ‘Living with Radiation’ document, and examine our approaches to communicating complex radiation risks that enable communities to make well-informed decisions about radiation in their daily lives.
