Building Bulletin 102 has been withdrawn and should not be considered to reflect current policy or guidance.

However, it is not prescriptive and contains some useful information that can assist authorities, school sponsors and designers involved in building projects in special schools.

References to the area required for individual spaces or buildings overall have been superseded by: Building Bulletin 104: Area guidelines for SEND and alternative provision.
