Register to declare goods moving to or from Northern Ireland using the Trader Support Service (TSS)

If you move goods to or from Northern Ireland, register for this service to make and manage customs, safety and security declarations, and payments.

This new version of the Trader Support Service (TSS) replaces the outgoing Trader Support Service. It is free to use and gives you access to:

If you’re already registered with the outgoing Trader Support Service you do not need to register for this new service. You’ll be migrated to the new service on or before 20 October 2026.

Who can register

You can register for the Trader Support Service if you’re moving goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland and have an Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number.

If your business is already registered for this service, you’ll need to be invited to sign up as an additional user. Ask the account administrator to send you an invitation. It will arrive by email.

What you’ll need

You’ll need to gather the following information before you register:

  • your personal information (including your name, email address, contact number and job title)
  • your business details (including your business name, email address) — business contact number and VAT registration number are optional
  • your EORI number — this may be an XI EORI, an EORI number issued by an EU country, your parent organisation’s EORI or an EORI starting GB

If you have them, you may also choose to provide the following when you register:

  • a simplified declarations procedure number (SDP) — this may be used when releasing imported goods using a basic declaration upfront and a full supplementary declaration later
  • your entry in declarant’s record number (EIDR) — this may be used if you intend to release goods instantly by recording data in your commercial records instead of filing a full declaration
  • details of your duty deferment account (account number, deferred payment option (DPO) authorisation number — this may be used if you intend to delay paying duty after meeting the Duty deferment authorisation rules
  • a customs warehouse authorisation number — this may be used if you intend to store non-UK or duty-suspended goods in an approved customs warehouse or make declarations relating to customs warehousing procedures
  • your excise warehouse authorisation number— this may be used if you intend to open, operate, or declare duty-suspended goods at an excise warehouse
