Rapid AI Delivery Taskforce (TF RAID)
Accelerating the adoption and operational deployment of artificial intelligence, autonomy and frontier technologies to deliver operational advantage to Defence.
Overview
Announced in June 2026, the Rapid AI Delivery (RAID) Taskforce (TF RAID) accelerates the adoption and operational deployment of artificial intelligence (AI), autonomy and other frontier technologies across the UK Military Commands. The Taskforce was allocated £100m through the Defence Investment Plan.
Reporting directly to the Chief of the Defence Staff, TF RAID brings together military, technical and commercial expertise to solve Defence’s hardest operational challenges and rapidly deliver operational advantage to the Armed Forces.
Working across Defence, Government, industry, academia and allies, the Taskforce identifies operational problems, evaluates emerging technologies and accelerates successful capabilities into operational use. TF RAID takes a fundamentally different approach to capability delivery, using new tools to solve real problems, identifying, testing and scaling frontier technologies, and rapidly translating innovation into operational effect.
Our mission
To solve Defence’s hardest operational problems and rapidly put capabilities into the hands of those who need them.
Success is measured in operational advantage delivered, not technology demonstrated.
Current areas of focus
TF RAID is initially focused on four operational challenge areas.
Understanding and decision advantage
Applying AI to support intelligence processing, analysis and operational decision-making.
Electromagnetic and information advantage
Generating a better understanding of complex operational environments through the integration and exploitation of information from multiple sources.
Planning and automation
Applying AI-enabled tools to improve the speed, quality and adaptability of military planning.
Autonomous systems
Exploring how AI-enabled autonomous and uncrewed capabilities can generate operational effect at greater scale and pace.
AI across Defence
TF RAID is a core element of the wider Defence AI landscape, working in partnership with wider teams and the Military Commands to deliver for UK Defence.

Industry Front Door
The TF RAID Industry Front Door provides a route for organisations to submit ideas, concepts and technologies relevant to Defence operational challenges. Submissions help inform future experimentation activities, challenge activities, competitions and engagement priorities.
Before you submit
The TF RAID Industry Front Door is intended solely to support engagement, horizon scanning and the exchange of ideas. It does not constitute a procurement process, competition, request for proposal, or commitment to future commercial activity. Any future opportunities will be announced and managed through the appropriate commercial channels.
TF RAID will review all submissions received. Due to the anticipated volume of submissions, we may not be able to respond to every enquiry. Where a submission aligns with current priorities or activities, we will endeavour to make contact.
Submit an idea
Submit an idea, concept or technology through the TF RAID Industry Front Door.
