Protected spirit drinks names: applications

List of applications to protect the geographical name of a spirit drink in Great Britain.

  1. Added Single Malt Welsh Whisky to the list under 'Class 2: Whisky or Whiskey' as there is a new application for a non-standard amendment.

  2. Removed link to the 'English Whisky/Whiskey: opportunity to oppose an application to register those names as a geographical indication' as the opportunity to object has now closed.

  3. Removed link to the Dovey Native Botanical Gin: opportunity to object, because the period of opportunity to object has closed.

  4. The application to register and protect the names English Whisky and English Whiskey as a geographical indication in Great Britain is now available for comment. Link to the opportunity to object has been added to the page.

  5. Amended Dovey Native Botanical Gin entry to say it has been published for comment.

  6. Removed Single Malt Welsh Whisky from Class 2 applications. Product is now registered.

  7. Removed link to the Single Malt Welsh Whisky opportunity to object because the opportunity to object has closed.

  8. Single Malt Welsh Whisky application has been published for comment.

  9. Added Dovey Native Botanical Gin as a new GI application.

  10. Added English Whisky to list under 'Class 2: Whisky or Whiskey'.

  11. Added Cornish Cyder Brandy as a new GI application.
