Types of apprenticeships that you can apply for in the nursing assistant in a veterinary environment sector.
This apprenticeship is for people working in a veterinary environment, but aren’t currently veterinary nurses or studying to be one.
You’ll train as a registered veterinary nurse, a position that involves general care of animals, including feeding, handling and grooming.
You’ll be working under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon, and will usually assist in dealing with household pets like dogs, cats and rabbits. You might also deal with more exotic animals like parrots and iguanas.
Types of apprenticeships
This is an intermediate level apprenticeship where you can train in these roles:
- veterinary care assistant
- animal nursing assistant

You can become an apprentice in England if you’re:
- 16 or over
- eligible to work in England
- not in full-time education
