Types of apprenticeships that you can apply for in the nuclear decommissioning sector.
Nuclear power stations have limited operating lives, ranging from 30 to 60 years. When their time is up, the plants must be decommissioned.
As an apprentice, you’ll gain a level 3 decommissioning qualification and complete a supporting technical certificate. You’ll learn many aspects of decommissioning and the structure of the nuclear industry.
Types of apprenticeships
This is an advanced level apprenticeship. You could train in roles like:
- process operator
- laboratory technician
- decommissioning technician
Apply for a nuclear decommissioning apprenticeship
You can become an apprentice in England if you’re:
- 16 or over
- eligible to work in England
- not in full-time education
