North east public health laboratory: services

The public health laboratory for the north east is based in Newcastle.

Public health laboratory Newcastle provides enteric bacteriology for the investigation of community outbreaks; bacteriological and virological testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs); mycobacterial diagnostic and virology testing. The laboratory works closely with the host trust to provide an effective public health service.
