About Northampton Marina
Northampton Marina is located at the junction of the River Nene and the Northampton Arm of the Grand Union Canal.
Nestled alongside Becket’s Park, the marina has a secluded, countryside feel whilst being within easy walking distance of the town centre with its many:
- shops
- bars
- restaurants
- theatres
It is ideally placed for exploring both Anglian Waterways and the wider canal network.

By boat
Follow the signs upstream of Northampton Lock. The marina entrance is to the south of the marina basin.
By road
Enter by Becket’s Park from the A5123 Victoria Promenade. 30 minutes free parking is available in the parking area by the lock. There is long term parking such as St. John’s or Nunn Mills Road car parks available at a number of town centre locations.

Mooring information and facilities

Moorings
We offer 4 types of moorings:
- short term or visitor moorings
- full residential long term moorings
- mixed use long term moorings
- leisure use long term moorings

Short term or visitor moorings
For short term or visitor moorings, you can contact the Marina Duty Officer on 07867 580129
Visitor and short term moorings have access to the facilities building. This includes:
- toilets
- showers
- a laundry room
You must vacate your mooring by 12pm on the day of departure.
To extend a booking you must agree this in advance with the Marina Duty Officer.
Long term moorings
There are 3 types of long term mooring.
Full residential long term moorings
Moorers are permitted to live aboard their boat all year round and must pay council tax. We have a limited number of these moorings.
Mixed use or part residential long term moorings
Moorers are permitted to live aboard their boat for most of the year, but the vessel must vacate the marina for 2 weeks in every 6 month period. This must be logged by marina staff.
Leisure use long term moorings
This is a non-residential mooring. Moorers cannot live aboard their boat and can only stay 3 nights out of every 7.

Pets are allowed on site. However, you should familiarise yourself with our .
You can get maps from our site office. You can also get:
- navigation keys for £20 each
- visitor mooring entry fobs, which require a £10 deposit
Contracted customers get 2 fobs free of charge. However, there is a £10 charge if one needs replacing.
Full residential mooring holders can receive post. Post for non-full residential mooring holders will be returned to sender.
Mooring Fees
1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027
Overnight and visitor moorings cost £18 a night.
Non-returnable reservation fee
We have a non refundable reservation fee of £400. This will reserve a berth for 4 weeks while your agreement is being processed. We will send details of how to pay when a berth is available.
If a berth is taken the deposit is credited towards the mooring fee. Do not send any money or cheques until requested.

We have a minimum mooring fee equivalent to a 30ft/9.14m boat.
