Our free online course explains the rules that govern the issuing of licence dispensation notices (LDNs). You can find this course on our e-learning site.

You should take this course if you work for an SIA approved contractor and you will be issuing LDNs. You should read Licence dispensation: Guidance on the use of licence dispensation (PDF, 418 KB, 15 pages) as well.

We will ask you for your ACS reference number when you create your e-learning account. You can find this on the letter we sent you when we confirmed your ACS approval.

What topics does the course cover?

Our course covers the following:

  • when you can issue an LDN
  • who you can issue an LDN to
  • the process you must follow when you issue an LDN

There will be a short test at the end, so that we can check you have understood the course material. You can take the course and test as many times as you like.

The course takes around 1.5 hours to complete. You will be able to print off a certificate at the end, for which you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your device.
