Improving HMRC’s customer understanding through surveys.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) run an annual Large Business Panel Survey (LBPS) to measure customer satisfaction and to explore large businesses’ relationships with HMRC. The research is an important way of understanding more about businesses’ perceptions and priorities.
In order to show year on year trend, HMRC usually contact the same businesses each year to obtain more in-depth knowledge to measure changes over time within the business population. HMRC also want to speak to as many businesses as possible, especially those not spoken to previously to get their views on HMRC.
Past surveys have been undertaken by the independent research agency IFF Research. The LBPS is linked to the Tax Opinions Panel Survey which explores the impact of tax administration and policy on large businesses.
