Information for NHS trusts and local authorities who are supervising volunteers who've signed up to support people affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19).

If you’re a local authority or NHS trust using volunteers

If you’re a local authority or NHS trust that has called on volunteers to undertake tasks, they must not be:

  • employed under a contract for work
  • added to any payroll
