What the app does

The GOV.UK app gives you time back by making your interactions with government more personalised and proactive.

You can use it to:

  • save relevant topics to the app homepage, helping you get to the content you need most

  • keep a record of pages you’ve visited, making it easier to return to content you need to access regularly

  • quickly find services for your local area, as entering your postcode will add a link to your local council’s website to the app homepage

  • get quick answers to questions using GOV.UK Chat, a new experimental AI tool available in the GOV.UK app

  • search for and browse GOV.UK content

Using the app

We want as many people as possible to be able to use the GOV.UK app. The accessibility statement for the GOV.UK app describes how it works with assistive technologies.

Contact us

The GOV.UK app is a beta version, which means that the app is being developed and updated regularly. We use insights from users to improve design, features and functionality while we develop it. You can provide feedback in the app or by email: govuk-app-support@digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk

Other UK government apps

The GOV.UK app is separate from the:

  • GOV.UK One Login app: use for proving your identity to access some government services

  • GOV.UK ID Check app: use to change how you get security codes to sign in to your GOV.UK One Login and for some HMRC services
