The Government Legal Department is recruiting 3 Deputy Directors:

  • Head of Ministry of Justice Private Law Litigation Team

This role is to lead one of the two MoJ Private Law Litigation Teams which are responsible for the handling of private law damages claims brought against the Ministry of Justice (including the Prison Service, Probation Service and HM Courts and Tribunals Service) and also the Crown Prosecution Service; and representing clients’ interest at inquests.

  • Head of Immigration Public Law Litigation Team

This role is to lead one of our four immigration teams representing the Home Office in relation to immigration, nationality and asylum issues.

  • Head of General Private Law Litigation, Inquiries and Costs Team

This role is to lead a team with a very varied workload - acting on behalf of a range of clients including the Insolvency Service, Companies House, the Registrar of Companies, the Land Registry, Department for Transport and Highways England, the Intellectual Property Office and others. The claims are varied and interesting ranging from Francovich litigation to high value personal injury litigation.
