Types of apprenticeships that you can apply for in the criminal investigation sector.

This higher apprenticeship trains you for an investigative role within the police service.

Training opportunities

Apprentices would be working within the role of detective investigator, so a very high level of professionalism,maturity, determination and self-confidence is required.

This includes interviewing victims and suspects, as well as preparing appropriate documentation for court proceedings. As this is a high level course, it can be used as a method of further development continuing on from courses taken through the College of Policing.

Types of apprenticeships

This is a level 5 higher apprenticeship in criminal investigations. You could train in a detective investigator role.

Apply for a criminal investigation apprenticeship

You can become an apprentice in England if you’re:

  • 16 or over
  • eligible to work in England
  • not in full-time education
