There are many potential risks to the safety of individuals in local communities, from anti-social behavior and vandalism, to crime and terrorism.

Training opportunities

You’ll be trained in the role of community safety advisor. After undertaking this placement you’ll give talks to schools and community groups and advise members of the public on the proper conduct while on the roads or in the home. You may also assist in the fitting of safety equipment in the community.

Types of apprenticeships

This is an intermediate level apprenticeship. You can train in roles like:

  • community safety advisor or advocate

You can become an apprentice in England if you’re:

  • 16 or over
  • eligible to work in England
  • not in full-time education
