Types of apprenticeships that you can apply for in the building products occupations sector.
This apprenticeship covers the manufacture and production of a range of building products like bricks, tiles, plaster, cement, pipes and other construction materials.
You could be working as a building products operative and help produce building materials. During your apprenticeship you could learn how to:
- load and operate mixers
- crush raw materials
- handle equipment like cranes and kilns
- deliver finished goods to construction sites
On the advanced apprenticeship you’ll learn more technical procedures, take on a more supervisory role, and be well placed for further education or career progression.
Health and safety will play a significant part in your job.
Types of apprenticeships
There are 2 levels of building products occupations apprenticeships, intermediate and advanced. Your roles could be:
- precast concrete installer
- production operative
