Types of apprenticeships that you can apply for in the animal technology sector.
This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to care for animals that will be used in medical, veterinary and dental research. You’ll make sure they’re well kept, in an environment that meets the standard demanded of the testing, as well as being as humane as possible.
Research using animals provides us with information about drugs and treatments that we couldn’t get by other means.
Your job will depend on the lab that you work for. There are many different breeds of animal that are used in testing and they all need different care. You’ll be trained in animal technology (also known as ‘animal husbandry’) and be given basic scientific training.
