Working for British Embassy Prague
The British diplomatic presence in the Czech Republic consists of the British Embassy in Prague. Staff at the mission fall into two groups:
UK-based staff: career diplomatic staff, employed directly by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in London, and sent to work at posts abroad for periods of 3-5 years.
Locally employed staff: local residents, employed in accordance with local employment law and practices.
If you are interested in career opportunities as a UK-based officer with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, please apply directly in London. Further details are available from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website.
Vacancies for local staff employed directly by the British Embassy in Prague are rare. When positions become available, they are always listed on our website. Please keep checking this page for the latest additions.
Please be aware that there are limited opportunities for promotion or progression, however, staff are encouraged to apply for other vacancies within the Embassy as they arise.
