UK Minister for Trade and Investment visits India

Lord Green, UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment will visit Delhi, Pune and Mumbai from 19-21 September.

The minister is being accompanied by delegates from 11 British trade bodies representing more than 20,000 UK companies.

The visit aims to identify further opportunities for the UK and Indian businesses to work together to realise India’s ambitious goals for economic growth and to explore opportunities for Indian businesses to take advantage of the attractive investment climate offered by the UK.

Trade and Investment Minister Lord Green said:

I’m delighted to be back in India for the second time this year and have the opportunity to showcase UKTI’s commitment to supporting and encouraging a range of companies, both large and small, to do business here in the future.

We are on track to double our trade with India by 2015 and the natural fit between the UK and Indian economies offers huge opportunities for commercial partnerships. India has identified what it needs to realise its economic ambitions and the UK is uniquely placed to help meet these needs with world-class technology and expertise.

In New Delhi, Lord Green will launch the UK India Business Council’s business centre in Gurgaon. He will also meet senior Indian ministers to discuss current economic challenges and bilateral trade with India.

In Pune, Lord Green will address a seminar on UK-India Innovation & Joint Product Development and will interact with business.

During his visit to Mumbai Lord Green will deliver a speech at the British Business Group’s (BBG) National Convention. He will also meet senior Indian businessmen and young leaders.
