UK DIT Ministers in Korea to promote future trade and investment links
Lord Price and Greg Hands to visit Republic of Korea to further strengthen UK- Korea economic relations
Lord Price and The Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, UK government Ministers at the Department for International Trade, will visit South Korea between 28-30 September.
The visit is an opportunity to forge even deeper economic ties as we look to the future of the UK-Korea trading relationship.
During the visit the Ministers will identify future trade and investment opportunities in the IT, e-commerce sectors and elsewhere. Highlights of their respective programmes will include meetings with key government representatives from the Blue House, the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as well as senior business representatives from Samsung C&T and Samsung Electronics. They will also have meetings with the growing number of UK companies successfully operating in South Korea.
Speaking ahead of the visit International Trade Minister, Lord Price, said:
UK-Korea trade and investment will continue to go from strength to strength as the UK looks to forge a new path in the world. During my visit, I’ll be discussing with my counterparts the future of the UK-Korea trading relationship and how we maximise it, including how we minimise any disruption to bilateral trade as the UK leaves the EU.

I am excited about the level of the trade and investment between our countries, which continues to grow. I want the UK to have strong future trade and investment relations with Korea and I look forward to meeting with businesses and my counterparts to discuss the wealth of opportunities available.

Lord Price was appointed Minister of State at the Department for International Trade on 16 July 2016. He is The Minister of State for Trade Policy leading the Trade Policy Unit, which has a wide range of trade policy functions, including:
- strategy and communications
- organisation
- operations
- free trade agreements
- the UK’s dealings with the World Trade Organisation
Greg Hands was appointed as Minister of State in the Department for International Trade on 15 July 2016.
He leads on high value export and investment campaigns in technology and smart cities; infrastructure; energy; healthcare and life sciences sectors. The Minister also leads on cross-Whitehall alignment; the business forecasting function; UK Export Finance (UKEF); policy direction on topics such as mergers and acquisitions and overseas direct investment.
