The British Embassy in Morocco marks Remembrance Day
The British Embassy in Morocco commemorated Remembrance Day 2013 in Tangier and Rabat
Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Morocco, Mr. Clive Alderton, attended Remembrance Day services in Tangier and Rabat in honour of the soldiers who were killed during World Wars I and II and in other conflicts.
In addition to the Ambassador, the services were also attended by the Defence Attaché, Col. Simon Barnett, the British Consul, Stephen Walton, as well as other ambassadors, diplomats and military attachés of other embassies.
The Remembrance service is a ceremony to commemorate British Commonwealth and Allied personnel who lost their lives in the two World Wars of the 20 Century and subsequent conflicts. This date signifies the formal end of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Morocco, Mr. Clive Alderton, said: “today we remember the sacrifice of those who have fallen for their country. Every year, we remember all those who have given their lives in the service of their country at separate ceremonies here in Morocco”.
