The British Embassy in Havana has a vacancy for a Technical Works Team Manager A1(L) position to assist the Technical Works Supervisor with the organisation and control of all technical works and related tasks at the Embassy and official properties.

•Supervise the Technical Works Group and their work.

•Liaise with PALCO and local authorities on technical works which fall under their responsibility as well as supervise PALCO and any contract staff who are carrying out maintenance works in the properties

•Action all Technical Works Requests and update TWS on the progress and completion of works

•Liaise with TWS on stores inventories and the sourcing, value for money and cost effective purchasing of materials and tools

Skills & Experience Ideally the candidate should have qualifications or a good understanding of

•Managing a team

•Building and engineering maintenance.

•Generators and electrics.

•Air conditioning.

•IT knowledge, including, experience with spread sheets, emails and planned maintenance.

•Spanish and English

The British Embassy invites interested applicants to submit an application in writing in English or Spanish outlining their relevant skills and experience, together with a copy of their CVs to the Corporate Services Manager by 16:15 of 9 June 2014. Interviews will take place shortly thereafter. Only candidates invited to attend an interview will be contacted. The successful candidate will work 39 hours per week during standard office hours but should also be willing to work out of normal working hours if necessary. He/she will be required to be on call in case of emergencies. The Embassy will seek agreement to the recruitment through Agencia Empleadora Palco where applicable.
