Ambassador Nigel Casey talks to Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The event was an opportunity for members of the British Business Club of Bosnia and Herzegovina to network with representatives of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BIH, the State Border Service and the Central Bank, as well as some key Bosnian companies both public and private.

We are delighted that despite the grim economic situation in Europe throughout 2012, UK exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina went up by 7%. In the same year, the British Business Club expanded by 7 members. Although the number of UK investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina is relatively small, they play a role in the economic development of this country. In his speech, Ambassador Casey named two investors that he recently visited – Ionix Systems in Maglaj and Dempson Bosnia in Dubica. It took Ionix Systems only four months to set-up and start exporting. Dempson Bosnia is the UK’s first direct investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2002 when they were established, the company has been exporting paper bags to the UK and from there to buyers in western Europe.
