Advice for fans travelling to Italy for the Italy v England football game on 31 March 2015.

Passports and visas

Please check your passport and visa details:

  • you do not need a visa to travel to Italy but you must have a valid passport
  • remember your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
  • please ensure you take out good travel insurance - it could save you a lot of money if you get into difficulties
  • in Italy it is obligatory to carry ID with you at all times
  • it is advisable to bring with you a copy of your passport biodata page, should you lose or have your passport stolen
  • if you lose your passport, or have it stolen, you will need to obtain an Emergency Travel Document (ETD) from the British Consulate in Rome which is 4 hours by train, or from the British Consulate-General in Milan which is 2 hours by train.
  • you will need to supply a police report, flight reservation and one photo; the fee is €135

Getting to the stadium

  • official meeting and ticket collection point for England supporters is at the Roma and Rocca Cavour Hotel, Piazza Carlo Felice 60, the square directly opposite the Porta Nuova railways station, between 10am and 5pm
  • free special shuttle buses will depart from Corso Vittorio Emanuele II (between the junction with Corso Massimo D`Azeglio and the Umberto I bridge) from 6.30pm until 7.15 pm to transfer England supporters to the Juventus stadium
  • alternatively there are the regular buses – lines 72 (from the north-east edge of the city centre, or take the metro line 1 from Porta Nuova to Bernini and from there a number 9 tram toward the ground). Please visit the Turin public transport website for detailed information as bus lines and itineraries might be suppressed or diverted at short notice

Advice for when you’re at the match:

  • access to the stadium might be slow; there will be ticket checks and you should have your passport with you; “pat down” body searches may take place at the entrance to the turnstiles
  • to avoid a last minute bottleneck you should aim to arrive at the stadium early. Gates will open two hours before kick-off.
  • no glass and plastic bottles, cans, poles, drums, megaphones, flares and pyrotechnics are allowed in. For a full list of prohibited items please consult the Juventus Stadium Rules and Regulations
  • alcohol will be on sale within the stadium. Smoking is not permitted inside the stadium
  • England supporters sector is located in the “away” section of the ground in the North-east corner, in blocks 211 and 212 of the upper tier, and block 110 below them. Access is via gate E
  • there are no storage facilities for items that are refused entry (it includes lighters, umbrellas and large belt buckles)
  • supporters will be asked to show their original passport which will be checked against a list of registered supporters provided by the English Football Association
  • the majority of registered England supporters are expected to arrive on the day of the match and return to the UK the following day
  • please refer to the Football Supporters Federation website (the Free Lions magazine issue 138) for detailed information about ticket booking and local arrangements
  • as a public safety measure, England supporters are likely to be held back for a minimum of 30 minutes and up to an hour after the match final whistle


Helpful tips for the local area:

  • as in any other city beware of pickpockets and bag snatchers at airports, railway stations, around the town historical centre and when using public transport
  • only carry what you need, leave spare cash and valuables in hotel safety deposits and never leave valuables or anything on show in cars
