Commemorating the International Human Rights Day on 10 December, the British and German Embassies in Quito posed together for a photo under the slogan “ No Human Rights No Freedom”.

On 10 December 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was signed in the framework of the UN General Assembly . The Declaration contains 30 articles on civil, cultural , economic, political and social fundamental rights that attach to the entire international community under the same ideals and values.

The message of the United Nations Human Rights Day in this 2014 is “ Human Rights 365 days a year.” Both the British and German Embassies are committed to promote and reflect every day on the importance of basic and inalienable rights of all people equally.
