Dr. Turner was accompanied by Dr. John Murton, Deputy High Commission and Dr. David Hall, Political Counsellor.

The High Commissioner delivered to President Kenyatta a letter of invitation to the Somalia Conference in London on 7 May. Kenya plays a vital role on Somalia, having nearly 5,000 troops in Somalia, and hosting more Somali refugees than any other nation.

Dr. Turner and President Kenyatta discussed how the two countries would work together not only on the shared agendas of regional security and stability, but also prosperity and development. Dr. Turner said that the UK would work with Kenya to support Kenya’s Vision 2030 for economic growth by aiming to double UK-Kenya trade.
