Heritage Day in the Ambassador’s Residence in Montevideo
The Ambassador’s Residence opened its doors to the public during Heritage Day and displayed a presentation about tango in UK.

Hundreds of visitors had the opportunity to learn about the history of the house and its extensive gardens, on Saturday 5 October.
During the tour, the guides described the furniture, most of them from the Regency period, acquired in auctions in London in 1927, just before the construction of the building was finished. They also described the works of art that decorate the Residence, most of which belong to the British Government art collection.
Additionally, visitors enjoyed a presentation about the popularity of Tango in UK, in line with this year’s theme.
Tango academies and milongas are available in about a hundred cities in UK, and it is possible to even see people dancing Tango in the streets during festivals in London and Edinburgh, among other cities.
This was the eighth consecutive year that the Ambassador’s Residence opened its doors to the public during the Uruguayan “Open Day”
