The British Embassy in Asuncion received the visit of Mr. Nigel Baker, Head of the South America Department, and Deputy Director of the Americas at the Foreign Office (FCO).

During his stay, he visited the Paraguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and spoke to the media about strengthening the links between Paraguay and the UK. He recognised Brexit opens a range of opportunities in regions such as Latin America. and increases the diversity of activities.

For the occasion, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Paraguay Dr. Jeremy Hobbs offered a reception, on Monday 10 October, which was attended by Mr. Gustavo Leite, Minister of Commerce and Industry along with other Paraguayan authorities.

Welsh harpist Mr. Robin Huw Bowen played typical British music. The talented British harpist was in Asuncion to participate in the tenth edition of the World Harp Festival organised in Paraguay.
