GREAT British Business Networking Cocktail

The British Embassy Quito and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ecuador & Great Britain hosted a British Business Networking Cocktail at the Hilton Colon Hotel in Quito on Thursday, 29th May. The objective of the reception was to bring together British and Ecuadorean businesses. Guests included the previous Ecuadorean Ambassador to Great Britain, Ana Alban, and British Members of Parliament, Greg Mulholland and John Mann, visiting Ecuador to climb Cotopaxi volcano. The reception followed on from the success of the first British Networking Cocktail, held in June of last year.

The event was supported by the following: ADELCA, Agripac, Andes Petroleum, Colegio Britanico, CN, Delltex, Banco Pichincha, BUPA, Fabara & CIA. Abogados, Garner, Primax, Sempértegui, Tevcol y Tevsur, and Yachay. There was also an excellent exhibition of photographs of Ecuador and Great Britain by renowned photographer Patricio Tisalema.

Some of the photographs were auctioned to raise money for charity, with around $1000 being raised in total. During the event, British Ambassador Patrick Mullee and Pedro Bustamante, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ecuador & Great Britain, both spoke about the importance of commercial exchange between the two countries.
