Goodbye to departing Chevening scholars and welcome to those returning!

The British Embassy recently hosted a pre-departure briefing for the 25 Chevening scholars who will soon be leaving for their Masters courses in the UK.

Chevening Scholars

The Embassy invited 2 Chevening alumni to share their experiences of studying in the UK and of being part of the Chevening network. The briefing provided invaluable guidance and advice to the scholars before they set off for their year of study. It not only gave them an opportunity to begin forming the links and networks with each other which form a key part of the Chevening experience but also to gain insights and information about the UK’s education system, especially from our alumni.

After the briefing, Mr Paul Bute, Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires, hosted a reception at the Ambassador’s Residence to say goodbye to the 2015/16 scholars and to welcome back the 2013/14 scholars. Certificates of completion of study were presented to the 2013/14 scholars who got the opportunity to network with the 2015/2016 scholars and embassy staff working on a range of important areas.

Applications for Chevening scholarships for the 2016/17 round are open until 3 November.
