British Embassy supports conservation of Giant Manta Rays on the Ecuadorean coast

Dr Andrea Marshall, world expert on manta rays, will give a conference on 27 August in Puerto López, Manabí, about the importance of the conservation of this species.

‘Proyecto Mantas Ecuador’, along with the Ministry of Environment and with the support of the British Embassy in Quito, will host an open conference about the importance of the conservation of manta rays. Dr Andrea Marshall, the leading world expert on this species, will be in charge of giving the conference, which will take place on 27 August at 4 pm in the premises of the Machalilla National Park, located on García Moreno and Eloy Alfaro streets, Puerto López, Manabí province. The purpose of this event is to communicate the activities of ‘Proyecto Mantas Ecuador’ in the area, outline their objectives and share their results. Local authorities, members of the media and the local population will be present at this event.
