The GREAT Britain Festival launches on 17 October 2014. People across Spain will have opportunities to:
- taste the best of British food
- buy clothes from top British designers
- enjoy the best of British writing and live music

El Corte Inglés promotion
The “Shopping is GREAT Britain” campaign launches with a nationwide promotion of more than 600 British products in 35 El Corte Inglés department stores including gourmet.
This campaign will enable customers of El Corte Inglés stores to discover British fashion such as Victoria Beckham Denim, Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, Jigsaw, Phase Eight, John Smedley or Drakes London. This is alongside the many British brands that are already famous in Spain at El Corté Inglés’ flagship stores in:
- Madrid (Castellana)
- Barcelona (Diagonal)
- Bilbao
- Valencia
- Marbella (Puerto Banus)
Other opportunities to enjoy the GREAT Britain Festival
The Festival also includes the chance to:
- see top British bands at the Bizkaia International Music Experience (BIME) in Bilbao
- visit British Education Fairs in Barcelona and Madrid
- watch award-winning British films
- meet best-selling British authors
A Union Flag-adorned Mini – an icon of British innovation for more than 60 years – will also make guest appearances at locations throughout Spain.

- 18th October: book signing by Chris Stewart, autobiographical writer - Marbella
- 20th October: BAFTA Shorts film screenings- Centro Cultural Conde Duque, Madrid
- 21st October: children’s story-telling by Marta Altes, Barcelona
- 21st October: children’s story-telling by Marcus Sedgwick – Madrid
- 22nd October: children’s story-telling by Marcus Sedgwick - Barcelona
- 22nd October: British Education Fair – Barcelona
- 23rd October: British Education Fair – Madrid
- 28th October: An evening with British authors John Carlin and Chris Stewart - Madrid
- 31st October to 1st November: BIzkaia International Music Experience – Bilbao
- 3rd and 4th November: London Symphony Orchestra – Auditorio Nacional, Madrid
