Book of condolence for Lady Thatcher in Rome and Milan

The British Embassy in Rome and the Milan Consulate General open a book of condolence for former Prime Minister Lady Thatcher.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The book is open for people to sign and leave messages between 09.00 and 17.00 from Tuesday 9 April until further notice.

The Embassy is located at Via XX Settembre 80/a, 00187 Rome, while the Milan British Consulate General is in Via Via San Paolo 7, 20121 Milan. People wishing to sign should come to reception [with photographic identification].

The British Ambassador to Italy, Christopher Prentice, said:

“Notwithstanding one’s political beliefs, everybody must acknowledge the extraordinary results obtained by a unique woman, as Prime Minister in the UK and as Head of State at an international level”

“I offer my deepest sympathy to her family and friends at this time of sad loss.”
