2014/15 Chevening Scholarships: Applications Now Open in Uganda

Applications for 2014-2015 Chevening Scholarships in Uganda are now open and will close on 1 November 2013.

The British High Commission is inviting applications for its 2014-2015 Chevening Scholarships. The application window is now open in Uganda, and closes on 1 November 2013.

The Scholarships offer not only financial support to study for a Masters degree at leading UK universities, but also the opportunity to become part of an influential and highly regarded global network.

We aim to attract talented professionals who show strong potential to become future leaders, decision-makers and opinion formers. We accept applications from candidates intending to pursue Masters studies in a wide range of subject areas. However, we particularly welcome applications in the following fields:

  • Security Sector Reform
  • Human Rights
  • Journalism
  • Oil and Gas

Last year, two Chevening Scholars from Uganda studied in the UK. Daniel Namutale Gantungo studied for an LLM in Oil and Gas Law at the University of Aberdeen and Pumla Nabachwa studied for an MA in Economics at the University of Manchester.

A Chevening Scholarship in Uganda includes: a monthly stipend, travel to and from the UK via an approved route, an arrival and excess baggage allowance, a thesis or dissertation grant, and the cost of an entry clearance visa and tuition fees.
