Senior British water industry executives to visit Israel
A delegation from the British water industry will participate in WATEC, Israel’s biennial Water Technologies Conference and Exhibition.
A delegation of 17 senior executives from the British water industry will arrive in Israel this week to participate in WATEC, Israel’s biennial Water Technologies Conference and Exhibition, between October 22-24.
The delegation, one of the largest international delegations to WATEC, is coming to pursue partnership with Israel in developing advanced water-tech solutions across their businesses and international markets. Companies represented include United Utilities, Arup, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Unilever, South, Britvic, Syrinix, and British Water.
The diversity of parties in the British delegation to Watec reflects the tremendous scope for cooperation between British and Israeli companies in water-tech,” said Yoni Dolgin, Cleantech Manager at the UK Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy Israel. “It also reflects the increasing cooperation we have seen between the two countries in building water-tech partnerships.
The delegation’s visit was organised jointly between the UK Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy Israel, the Trade & Economic Affairs Team at the Israeli Embassy London and British Water.
During their visit, the delegation will seek opportunities to cooperate with Israeli companies on issues across the water cycle, including wastewater management in municipal and industrial markets, technologies to reduce leakage in water networks, and increasing efficiency of water’s use in industrial processes.
Several delegates will be speaking at the WATEC conference, including Professor Mark Fletcher, Global Water Business Leader at Arup, a business with over 1,200 water specialists worldwide. Mark will address the role of design engineering consultancies in rolling out innovation across major global infrastructure projects and share his vision of what a best practice water treatment centre looks like.
In addition, the delegation members will visit Mei Netanya, the Netanya municipal water utility; Shafdan, the Dan Region Wastewater Treatment Plant; and Odis in Petach Tikvah, who specialize in the production of water filters. On Thursday 24 October, a networking reception and panel will be held at WATEC to explore opportunities to partner British and Israeli excellence in water-tech.

About the UK Israel Tech Hub, British Embassy, Tel Aviv
The Hub was launched in October 2011 as an initiative of Ambassador Matthew Gould. Its creation followed an agreement between Prime Ministers David Cameron and Benjamin Netanyahu to build a UK-Israel partnership in technology.
