The Department for Transport are running a short survey on the use of table VEH0150 to understand our user needs and requirements. If you wish to comment on this table, please complete the short survey.

Statistics on motor vehicles that were registered for the first time during July to September 2018 and those that were licensed at the end of September 2018.

During July to September 2018, there were:

  • 747,000 vehicles registered for the first time in Great Britain
  • 16,200 new ultra low emission vehicles registered for the first time in Great Britain

At the end of September 2018, there were:

  • 38.4 million licensed vehicles in Great Britain
