Comparing 2026 Quarter 1 (January to March) with 2025 Quarter 1 (January to March), in the UK there were:
- 769,000 vehicles registered for the first time, an increase of 5.1%
- 150,000 zero emission vehicles registered for the first time, an increase of 12.9%
At the end of March 2026, compared to March 2025, in the UK there were:
- 42.4 million licensed vehicles, an increase of 1.3%
- 2,148,000 licensed zero emission vehicles, an increase of 29.6%
