During April to June 2023, in the United Kingdom, there were:
- there were 614,000 vehicles registered for the first time in the UK, up 15%
- there were 83,000 zero emission vehicles registered for the first time in the UK, up 46%
At the end of June 2023:
- there were 41.2 million licensed vehicles in the UK, an increase of 1.3% compared to the end of June 2022
- there were 851,000 licensed zero emission vehicles in the UK, an increase of 57% compared to the end of June 2022
- zero emission vehicles accounted for 2.1% of all road using vehicles, an increase of 0.2% on the previous year
