The UK armed forces maternity report contains maternity information for naval service, army and RAF personnel including officer and other ranks.
There have been some revisions to previous years’ data within the 2012 edition of the maternity report, this affects some of the figures reported from 2007 onwards. Any figures affected have been marked in the publication as revised, in line with Defence Statistics revisions policy.
The revisions have been made to include detail on the numbers returning from maternity leave missing from previous reports and implement a consistent definition of outflow in line with other Defence Statistics publications. No previously published publications have been revised. See the Revisions section of the 2012 report for more details on this revision.
